Most of my favorites are published in Italian, but there are some excellent books on authentic Italian regional food, written by American based authors too. My favorite cookbook authors are Carol Field, Mary Taylor Simeti and the late Anne Bianchi (who wrote about Tuscany and other regions of Italy).
